Hill McGlynn is currently working in partnership with a growing and well-regarded residential developer to recruit an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based out of their Sittingbourne office. Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the commercial management of residential construction projects
- Supporting the procurement and buying of construction materials
- Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Assisting with valuations, variations, and cost reporting
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and site teams
- Supporting senior commercial staff with day-to-day project duties
Requirements
- Experience in buying/procurement of construction materials or a highly confident, proactive, and willing-to-learn attitude to take on procurement responsibilities
- Previous experience within construction or quantity surveying
- Residential Experience Is Advantageous But Not Essential
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Good commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office
- Full UK Driving Licence Preferred
