Paying up to £75,000 — Hill McGlynn Recruitment are pleased to be working with a growing and well-established contractor who, due to continued expansion, are looking to appoint an Estimator to be based out of their Havering office. Our client delivers a diverse portfolio of works, including new build projects, repairs and refurbishment, and cladding/facades schemes. This role would suit an Estimator with experience in one or more of these sectors who is looking to join a business with a strong pipeline of work and long-term stability.
Location: Havering, London. Salary: up to £75,000 depending on experience.
The Role
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for pricing and tendering a range of projects, working closely with the commercial and delivery teams to produce accurate and competitive submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and scope of works
- Producing take-offs and pricing using supply chain and subcontractor input
- Assessing risk, value engineering opportunities, and commercial viability
- Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams throughout the tender process
- Supporting pre- and post-tender meetings as required
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator
- Background in new build, refurbishment/repairs, and/or cladding & facades
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
- Good communication skills and commercial awareness
