The Opportunity
Hill Mc Glynn are currently working with an established construction contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Compliance Manager to join their team.
This is a key role within the business, taking responsibility for maintaining and developing company compliance standards, with a particular focus on the Building Safety Act, ISO requirements, audits and internal processes.
We are looking for someone with strong construction compliance knowledge who can ensure the business continues to meet its regulatory and quality obligations.
Experience supporting company or staff training would be highly advantageous; however, candidates who are willing to develop their knowledge of the training process will also be considered.
The Role
As Compliance Manager, you will oversee compliance across the business, ensuring policies, procedures and management systems remain effective, current and aligned with relevant legislation and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Ensuring company policies and procedures remain compliant with the Building Safety Act and other relevant construction legislation.
- Managing and maintaining the company's ISO management systems.
- Preparing for, coordinating and supporting internal and external ISO audits.
- Identifying areas of non-conformance and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitoring changes to legislation, regulations and industry standards and communicating their impact across the business.
- Reviewing and developing company compliance policies, processes and procedures.
- Maintaining accurate compliance records, documentation and audit trails.
- Working closely with senior management and operational teams to promote a strong culture of compliance.
- Supporting the business in demonstrating competency and maintaining appropriate standards across its workforce.
- Assisting with the development, coordination and monitoring of company and staff training.
- Identifying training requirements and helping ensure employees maintain appropriate competencies and certifications.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
- Providing advice and guidance to employees and management on compliance-related matters.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Compliance Manager or compliance professional with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements within the construction industry.
Knowledge of the Building Safety Act and experience with ISO audits are essential for this position.
- You Will Ideally Have
- Strong knowledge and practical understanding of the Building Safety Act.
- Previous experience managing, preparing for or supporting ISO audits.
- Experience working with ISO management systems and compliance procedures.
- A background within construction, property, façades, cladding or a related sector would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of compliance, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Experience developing, reviewing and implementing company policies and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong record-keeping and documentation skills.
- The confidence to work with senior management, operational teams and external auditors.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Experience coordinating or delivering company/staff training would be advantageous.
- If you do not have direct training experience, you must be willing to learn and develop your understanding of the company's training processes.
- A proactive approach to identifying risks, improving processes and maintaining high standards across the business.
