Hill McGlynn Recruitment are proud to be working with a specialist Property Developer that delivers regeneration, refurbishment, and new build projects across the residential and public sectors.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to provide holiday cover on a live school refurbishment project in Kensal Road, London, for a three-week period between 3rd August and 21st August. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive Site Manager with refurbishment experience to oversee the safe and successful delivery of works within a live school environment.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring works are completed safely, to programme, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe environment ahead of the school's reopening.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day site operations during the holiday cover period
- Supervising subcontractors and coordinating site activities
- Monitoring health and safety compliance at all times
- Overseeing quality control throughout the project
- Managing works including:
- Contract lift to replace glass
- Removal of existing insulation and sheathing boards
- Installation of new sheathing boards and EPDM systems
- External Wall Insulation (EWI) installation and rendering
- Cleaning, snagging, and final finishing works
- Scaffold striking
- Carrying out final quality inspections to ensure the site is clean, safe, and ready before pupils return
- Maintaining accurate site records and communicating progress with the project team
Requirements
- Valid SMSTS
- Valid CSCS Card
- First Aid at Work Certificate
- Previous experience managing refurbishment projects
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- PASMA certification would be advantageous
- DBS certificate desirable but not essential
