Hill McGlynn is proud to be recruiting on behalf of their well-established Mechanical, Electrician and Plumbing Contractor Client. We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their growing team. This is a brand-new position created to support continued expansion and drive new business opportunities across the South of England (Midlands and below).
This is an excellent opportunity for a well-connected sales professional with strong industry knowledge and an established network of contacts within mechanical fit out, air conditioning, and building services sectors.
Salary & Package
- £50,000 - £75,000 basic (dependent on experience and industry network)
- Competitive bonus scheme with strong earning potential
- Company car or car allowance available
- Mobile phone provided
- Office-based role predominately (occasional work from home allowed)
- Full-time, permanent position
- Based from Sittingbourne, Kent office (ideal location)
Role Overview
You will be responsible for generating new business opportunities across the South of England and Midlands, focusing on mechanical fit out, air conditioning, and HVAC projects within sectors including retail, hotels, and commercial offices. This role will involve representing the business at senior level, confidently presenting to directors, decision-makers, and board-level stakeholders to secure new projects and long-term client relationships. This is a new role within the business and offers the opportunity to make a real impact on future growth.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in business development within mechanical fit out, HVAC, air conditioning, or building services sectors
- Strong understanding of commercial fit out projects across: Retail, Hotels, Office spaces, Commercial developments
- Existing industry network of contacts is highly desirable
- Confident presenting and selling to directors, senior stakeholders, and board-level decision makers
- Strong new business generation and relationship-building skills
- Experience identifying and securing project opportunities within similar industries
- Able to work closely with internal project teams and operational staff
- Comfortable with a mainly office-based role, with client meetings as required
- Mature, experienced professional with strong industry credibility and proven sales background
- Full UK Driving Licence
