The Opportunity
Hill Mc Glynn are currently working with a successful and well-established regional main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join their team.
Our client delivers a diverse range of construction projects across new build, design and build, and refurbishment, working with a strong portfolio of clients across the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a growing business where you will have responsibility for managing projects from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
The role will be based from the company's Horsham office, with regular travel to project sites as required.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, to the required quality standards and within budget.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Taking overall responsibility for the operational delivery of allocated projects.
- Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Quantity Surveyors and the wider project team.
- Managing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitoring project programmes, budgets, quality and health & safety.
- Reviewing project performance and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with contract requirements.
- Attending client and project meetings and providing regular progress updates.
- Supporting the procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
- Managing project variations, delays and other contractual matters.
- Ensuring all projects are delivered to the company's high standards.
- Providing leadership, support and guidance to site-based teams.
- Assisting with pre-construction, tenders and new project opportunities where required.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with a strong background working for a main contractor, ideally within the regional construction market.
- You Will Ideally Have
- Proven experience managing construction projects from start to completion.
- Experience across cladding remediation, new build, design & build and/or refurbishment projects.
- A strong understanding of construction processes, contracts and project delivery.
- Experience managing project teams and subcontractors.
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project budgets and programmes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage project teams.
- Relevant construction qualifications are desirable.
