Hill McGlynn Recruitment is proud to be working with a well-established residential developer with a strong pipeline of high-quality housing schemes across Surrey and West Sussex. Our client is now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team, overseeing key projects in the Chertsey and Crawley area.
The Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll take full commercial responsibility for one or more residential developments, ensuring cost efficiency, contract compliance, and smooth delivery through all stages of the build. You will report directly to the Commercial Manager and work closely with the site and design teams to drive financial performance and ensure the successful completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all commercial aspects of residential developments from inception to completion
- Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts
- Negotiate and manage contracts in line with company policies
- Provide accurate financial reporting and support project decision-making
- Mentor junior team members and promote best commercial practices
About You
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential construction sector
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and cost management processes
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- A proactive, commercially driven professional with a keen eye for detail
