Hill McGlynn is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing building services contractor for an experienced Refrigeration / AC Engineer (Refrigeration biased) to join their team covering London. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking for stability, strong earning potential, and long-term career progression.

Salary & Package

  • £45,000 - £50,000 basic (dependent on experience and skill set)
  • OTE £65,000 - £75,000 with overtime and bonuses
  • Travel time paid on any travel over 1 hour per day

Role Overview

You will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning systems across commercial sites throughout London, with a strong focus on refrigeration plant.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the M&E / refrigeration sector
  • Strong experience working on refrigeration systems including:
  • Walk-in cold rooms
  • Drinks chillers/langers
  • Standalone units
  • Experience with fault-finding and repair of:
    • VRF systems (desirable)
    • Split systems (desirable)
  • Ability to work independently on:
    • Refrigerant recovery
    • Pressure testing
    • Brazed repairs (desirable)
    • Compressor changes (desirable)
  • Experience working with major manufacturers such as: Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Toshiba, Panasonic (desirable)
  • Ability to produce clear and detailed remedial and repair reports
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Previous experience working within commercial environments
  • Participation in a 1-in-4 call-out rota
  • Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 points)
  • Qualifications

    • F-Gas Category 1 (essential)
