Salary: £27,976 - based on a 40 hour week

Hours of Work: 7AM - 3PM Monday to Friday

Summary: Hill McGlynn Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected construction company based in Gillingham who are seeking a practical and detail-focused Stores and Facilities Operative to support the day-to-day running of their warehouse and operational site. This role combines hands-on stores management with facilities support, ensuring materials are accurately tracked, readily available, and that the workplace remains safe, organised, and fully operational. Working closely with internal teams, contractors, and tenants, you will play a key role in maintaining efficient stock control, supporting logistics activity, and contributing to a well-run, compliant and audit-ready environment.

About the Role: This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining accurate stock control, supporting day-to-day warehouse activity, and ensuring facilities remain safe, organised, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe, clean and compliant working areas
  • Monitor PPE and equipment
  • Report stock shortages and operational issues

About You

Essential

  • Experience in warehouse, stores, or stock control role
  • Confidence handling materials and maintaining records
  • Basic health and safety understanding
  • Basic IT literacy (email, Excel, stock systems)
  • Counterbalance forklift license
  • Literacy and numeracy to GCSE standard

Desirable

  • Microsoft 365 experience (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Manual handling certification
  • Maintenance/construction/estates background
  • Inventory system experience
