The Role

As Materials Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials across multiple residential projects, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procuring materials for live residential developments
  • Negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers
  • Placing purchase orders and managing delivery schedules
  • Monitoring stock levels and forecasting future requirements
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and site teams
  • Ensuring materials meet specification and programme requirements
  • Managing cost control and supporting commercial reporting
  • Resolving supply issues and maintaining continuity of build programmes

The Candidate

We are seeking a commercially aware and organised Buyer with proven residential experience.

You Must Have

  • Minimum 3 years' experience buying materials for a residential developer
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and supply chains
  • Experience managing procurement across multiple plots or sites
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and cost awareness

Experience working for a housebuilder or residential developer is essential.
