Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, our client is now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based out of their Maidstone office. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor seeking to join a forward‑thinking contractor delivering high‑quality new build projects across multiple sectors.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a range of new build construction projects from pre‑construction through to final account. You will work closely with operational teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered profitably and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the full commercial lifecycle of new build construction projects
- Preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
- Valuations, variations, and final account negotiations
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Working closely with site and project management teams to ensure financial performance
- Supporting junior commercial staff where required
- Maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
- Strong background delivering new build construction projects
- Excellent understanding of commercial management and contract administration
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or related discipline preferred
- Full UK driving licence
