Hill McGlynn Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering a diverse range of projects across Kent and the South East. Due to sustained growth and a strong order book, our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Maidstone.
The Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role within the commercial team, overseeing a portfolio of schemes including residential developments, commercial builds, and mixed-use projects. You will manage all costs, contracts, and procurement activities to ensure successful delivery across a variety of project types and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Full commercial management of multiple projects from tender through to final account
- Procurement and management of subcontractors and suppliers
- Preparation of valuations, cost reports, and project forecasts
- Administering contracts in line with company procedures (JCT / NEC)
- Providing accurate financial insight and reporting to senior management
- Supporting and mentoring junior members of the commercial team
About You
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment
- Exposure to a variety of build types – residential, commercial, or mixed-use preferred
- Strong contractual and financial acumen with excellent attention to detail
- Degree-qualified (BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent)
- Confident communicator and negotiator with a proactive, team-focused approach
Package
£80,000 per annum (dependent on experience), car allowance and comprehensive benefits package.
