Hill McGlynn Recruitment are proud to be working with a well-established and growing roofing and refurbishment contractor who are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Sevenoaks. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step, to join a forward-thinking business delivering roofing, fit out, refurbishment, and maintenance projects across the South East.

Working closely with the business owner, you'll play a key role in managing multiple projects from inception through to final account, with genuine opportunities for long-term career progression as the company continues to grow.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered profitably while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple roofing, refurbishment, and fit out projects from tender through to final account
  • Preparing cost plans, budgets, valuations, and final accounts
  • Reviewing contracts and tender documentation
  • Procuring subcontractors and negotiating supplier quotations
  • Managing subcontractor accounts, applications, and payments
  • Monitoring project costs and identifying opportunities to maximise profitability
  • Preparing and submitting interim valuations and payment applications
  • Pricing variations and managing change control throughout projects
  • Producing cost reports and forecasting project performance
  • Liaising with clients, site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Carrying out site visits across the South East as required
  • Supporting the successful commercial delivery of several smaller-value projects simultaneously

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within roofing, refurbishment and fit out
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or significant relevant industry experience
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
  • Full UK Driving Licence
