The Opportunity
Hill McGlynn are currently working with an established and growing contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, based from their offices in Maidstone, Kent.
Working as part of a wider team of Quantity Surveyors, you will take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of Mechanical & Electrical projects across the South East, covering both M&E installations for new build construction projects and ongoing M&E maintenance works.
This is an excellent opportunity for an M&E Quantity Surveyor looking to join a well-established commercial team while taking ownership of specialist mechanical and electrical projects from a commercial perspective.
Previous M&E Quantity Surveying experience is essential for this position.
The Role
As M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of mechanical and electrical projects, working closely with the wider commercial and operational teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the commercial performance of M&E projects across the South East.
- Working across both new build M&E installation projects and M&E maintenance contracts.
- Managing projects commercially from initial stages through to final account.
- Preparing valuations and applications for payment.
- Managing subcontractor procurement, appointments, valuations and payments.
- Monitoring project costs against budgets and forecasts.
- Preparing regular cost reports and commercial forecasts.
- Identifying, pricing and negotiating variations.
