Hill McGlynn is currently working in partnership with a leading contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor specialising in voids, repairs, and refurbishment works across Lewisham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven Senior QS to take a leading role in delivering a portfolio of social housing contracts, with responsibility for overseeing multiple projects and supporting junior members of the commercial team.
?? The Role As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial performance of repairs and refurbishment contracts, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and in line with client expectations.
?? Key Responsibilities
- Managing the commercial delivery of voids and refurbishment contracts
- Overseeing cost control, valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Leading on financial reporting, forecasting, and budget management
- Managing subcontractor procurement and performance
- Providing commercial guidance to operational teams
- Mentoring and supporting junior Quantity Surveyors
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor role within repairs, maintenance, or refurbishment (ideally voids)
- Strong knowledge of social housing contracts
- Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines
- Strong leadership and mentoring capability
- Relevant qualification (Degree/HND in Quantity Surveying or similar preferred)
