Construction Manager (Oil & Gas)

Hill International is looking for a Construction Manager with relevant experience in oil and gas refineries.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor the performance of the EPC Contractor(s) to ensure the correctness and completeness of construction works as well as compliance with the scope of work requirements.
• Maintain a record of the EPC Contractor(s) submittals and control the submittals/correspondence regarding Construction Works received from the EPC Contractor(s) in a timely manner.
• Control and manage Construction Supervisor Engineers of the Project Management Team with respect to Construction aspects.
• Evaluate and endorse variation orders/concession requests submitted by the EPC Contractor(s) for Company's approval.
• Attend all meetings with EPC Contractor(s), their sub-contractors, and Company Meetings.
• Ensure that project scope is followed in the EPC / Execution Phase.
• Create a construction estimate based on a material takeoff (MTO).
• Manage the construction project budget.
• Create a construction project management plan.
• Overview and ensure the construction schedule, with project deliverables and milestones.
• Manage resources such as construction materials, construction workers, and equipment.
• Allocate and manage resource logistics.
• Create status reports for project stakeholders.
• Oversee the performance of the general contractor, site manager, and other members of the construction team.
• Ensure all permits and licenses are issued and meet code regulations.
• Coordinating work activities with EPC Contractor project/engineering/construction managers, as well as subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitoring and managing Contractor performance and adherence to safety regulations.
• Maintain health and safety standards.
• Monitoring project milestones and schedules to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget constraints.
• Estimating costs for labour and materials needed for construction.
• Ensuring that all workers follow safety regulations at all times.
• Evaluating EPC Contractor performance and disciplining or terminating employees when necessary.
• Ensuring that all construction works in the project are conducted in accordance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Overseeing Contractors’ work on projects to ensure that it meets all relevant standards.
• Managing construction projects from start to finish, including planning, managing, and overseeing all aspects of the project.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Demonstrable experience in oil and gas construction.
• The ability to communicate effectively at all levels both within and outside of the organisation and across different cultures.
• Proven abilities in leadership, engaging, developing, and motivating teams in a challenging environment.
• Able to make decisions and drive decision processes.
• The candidate should be eligible to work in the UK as well.
