Hill International is looking for a Construction Manager with relevant experience in oil and gas refineries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience in oil and gas construction
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels both within and outside of the organisation and across different cultures
  • Proven abilities in leadership, engaging, developing, and motivating teams in a challenging environment
  • Able to make decisions and drive decision processes
  • The candidate should be eligible to work in the UK

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the performance of the EPC Contractor(s) to ensure the correctness and completeness of construction works as well as compliance with the scope of work requirements
  • Maintain a record of the EPC Contractor(s) submittals and control the submittals/correspondence regarding Construction Works received from the EPC Contractor(s) in a timely manner
  • Control and manage Construction Supervisor Engineers of the Project Management Team with respect to Construction aspects
  • Evaluate and endorse variation orders/concession requests submitted by the EPC Contractor(s) for Company's approval
  • Attend all meetings with EPC Contractor(s), his sub-contractors and Company's Meetings
  • Ensure that project scope is followed in the EPC / Execution Phase
  • Create a construction estimate based on a material takeoff (MTO)
  • Manage the construction project budget
  • Create a construction project management plan
  • Overview and ensure the construction schedule, with project deliverables and milestones
  • Manage resources such as construction materials, construction workers and equipment
  • Allocate and manage resource logistics
  • Create status reports for project stakeholders
  • Oversee the performance of the general contractor, site manager and other members of the construction team
  • Ensure all permits, licenses are issued and meet code regulations
  • Coordinating work activities with EPC Contractor project/engineering/construction managers, as well as subcontractors and suppliers
  • Monitoring and managing Contractor performance and adherence to safety regulations
  • Maintain health and safety standards
  • Monitoring project milestones and schedules to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget constraints
  • Estimating costs for labour and materials needed for construction
  • Ensuring that all workers follow safety regulations at all times
  • Evaluating EPC Contractor performance and disciplining or terminating employees when necessary
  • Ensuring that all construction works in the project are conducted in accordance with applicable codes and regulations
  • Overseeing Contractors’ work on projects to ensure that it meets all relevant standards
  • Managing construction projects from start to finish, including planning, managing, and overseeing all aspects of the project
