Hill International is looking for a Construction Manager with relevant experience in oil and gas refineries.
Responsibilities
Monitor the performance of the EPC Contractor(s) to ensure the correctness and completeness of construction works as well as compliance with the scope of work requirements.
Maintain a record of the EPC Contractor(s) submittals and control the submittals/correspondence regarding Construction Works received from the EPC Contractor(s) in a timely manner.
Control and manage Construction Supervisor Engineers of the Project Management Team with respect to Construction aspects.
Evaluate and endorse variation orders/concession request submitted by the EPC Contractor(s) for Company’s approval.
Attend all meetings with EPC Contractor(s), his sub-contractors and Company’s Meetings.
Ensure that project scope is followed in the EPC / Execution Phase
Create a construction estimate based on a material takeoff (MTO)
Manage the construction project budget
Create a construction project management plan
Overview and ensure the construction schedule, with project deliverables and milestones
Manage resources such as construction materials, construction workers and equipment
Allocate and manage resource logistics
Create status reports for project stakeholders
Oversee the performance of the general contractor, site manager and other members of the construction team
Ensure all permits, licenses are issued and meet code regulations
Coordinating work activities with EPC Contractor project / engineering / construction managers, as well as subcontractors and suppliers
Monitoring and managing Contractor performance and adherence to safety regulations
Maintain health and safety standards
Monitoring project milestones and schedules to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget constraints
Estimating costs for labour and materials needed for construction
Ensuring that all workers follow safety regulations at all times
Evaluating EPC Contractor performance and disciplining or terminating employees when necessary
Ensuring that all construction works in the project are conducted in accordance with applicable codes and regulations
Overseeing Contractors’ work on projects to ensure that it meets all relevant standards
Managing construction projects from start to finish, including planning, managing, and overseeing all aspects of the project
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent
Demonstrable experience in oil and gas construction
The ability to communicate effectively at all levels both within and outside of the organisation and across different cultures.
Proven abilities in leadership, engaging, developing, and motivating teams in a challenging environment
Able to make decisions and drive decision processes
The candidate should be eligible to work in UK as well
