Hill HR are a busy Worcestershire based HR consultancy. We support small and medium sized business clients across the UK providing pragmatic HR and employment law support.
We continue to grow and therefore we are looking for another superstar HR Consultant to join our amazing and busy team.
The role
This role involves working directly with our clients. No day is ever the same.
Working in an HR consultancy and supporting a variety of different clients at the same time is not like working in corporate HR. You have juggle workloads, be reactive in providing advice (often put on the spot) and be able to work with and switch between our different clients.
Therefore, it is essential you are confident in your knowledge and practical application of HR and employment law, and be able to work independently, with the wider team available for support.
We pride ourselves on being a friendly and approachable team and you must have exceptional client service and attention to detail.
Typically the role will involve:
- Supporting our clients face to face, on the phone, via email and video, and escalating where needed.
- Revising, drafting and updating HR documentation (contracts, handbooks, policies)
- Responding to various types of day to day HR and employment law queries
- Supporting clients with processes such as disciplinary, grievance, poor performance and attendance and restructuring β sometimes in person, sometimes remotely.
- Supporting with running recruitment campaigns
- Maintaining our HR systems (knowledge of Capsule and Breathe HR would be great)
- Attending networking events and expos to represent Hill HR
The Person
The right person must have:
- A really sound generalist HR background with experience of working in a similar type of role, or a similar way.
- An up to date knowledge of employment legislation and to maintain that knowledge, especially with the ERA 2025 changes.
- Be able to provide pragmatic, commercially focused and legally correct advice first time
- Must definitely have a flexible and can-do approach.
- The ability to work independently (we donβt micromanage) but with wider team support.
- Be able to juggle priorities and manage deadlines and client needs.
- The ability to think and act widely and creatively to find solutions to resolve HR matters and be able to present various options to clients, with implications of such options.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver client advice in either written or spoken form and in a clear and understandable way.
- Our business is all about building excellent client relationships, so you must be able to develop great working relationships with our clients and with the team.
- Be able to drive and be prepared to travel to client sites (within an hour of our offices).
What you will get in return:
- The opportunity to develop and upskill, supported by our experienced and fun team.
- Although we will agree a working pattern, there will be some flexibility to meet both the company and your needs. We are very family focused.
- Hybrid working β at our offices in Droitwich / home working. You must be able to work from our Droitwich base and travel within an hour to visit clients.
- Hours β 2 or 3 days per week. This role will job share with another team member and therefore the days of work are Thursday and Friday (with a Wednesday if a 3rd day).
- Salary β Β£42k (to be pro rata according to hours).
