We are working with a specialist construction contractor delivering refurbishment, groundworks and structural alterations projects across London and the South East. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in London. This Assistant Quantity Surveyor role will involve supporting the commercial team across live projects, gaining exposure to refurbishment, groundworks and structural alterations schemes while developing your experience within a fast-paced contractor environment. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will assist in the commercial management of multiple live projects from procurement through to final account.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting commercial management of refurbishment, groundworks and structural alterations projects
- Assisting with procurement of subcontractor packages
- Preparing and processing valuations and variations
- Supporting cost reporting and project monitoring
- Assisting with final accounts and commercial close-out
- Working closely with site and commercial teams on live projects
- Some experience in a Quantity Surveying role or placement within construction
- Interest in refurbishment, groundworks or structural alterations projects
- Understanding of JCT and/or NEC contracts (desirable)
- Strong numerical skills
