We are recruiting an experienced Contracts Manager for a leading construction business operating across East England. The successful candidate will oversee multiple projects, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is ideal for a senior construction professional looking to lead project delivery in commercial, educational, industrial, and healthcare sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of construction projects from contract award to completion
  • Act as the primary client and site interface, maintaining excellent relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
  • Manage, mentor, and support the site management team, including junior managers
  • Develop and monitor project programmes and ensure projects stay on schedule
  • Oversee project budgets, controlling costs and optimising labour and subcontractor resources
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained on all sites, complying with specifications and drawings
  • Implement and monitor health & safety policies on all sites
  • Travel to project sites in Cambridge as required, with flexibility for overnight stays

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or senior site/project manager in construction
  • Strong knowledge of budget management, cost control, and programme scheduling
  • Ability to lead teams and manage multiple stakeholders effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, results-driven problem solver
  • Knowledge of health & safety legislation and site compliance
  • Relevant site qualifications desirable: CSCS card, SMSTS, First Aid, Temporary Works Coordinator, asbestos awareness
