Hill & Hill Recruitment are working with a highly respected heritage conservation contractor renowned for delivering the restoration, refurbishment and preservation of some of the UK's most significant historic and listed buildings. Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, our client is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their pre-construction team based in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity to work on prestigious heritage, conservation and restoration projects ranging from listed buildings and historic landmarks to churches, museums and high-profile public buildings.

The Role

  • Preparing accurate cost plans, estimates and tender submissions for heritage and conservation projects
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules of works and tender documentation
  • Carrying out detailed take-offs and pricing exercises
  • Obtaining and assessing specialist subcontractor and supplier quotations
  • Undertaking site visits to assess project requirements and existing building conditions
  • Identifying risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions where appropriate
  • Working closely with clients, consultants and operational teams throughout the tender process
  • Supporting project teams during successful tender handovers

Requirements

  • Previous estimating experience within heritage conservation, restoration, refurbishment or specialist construction sectors
  • Strong understanding of traditional building methods and materials
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and conservation requirements
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software
