The predicted salary is between 40000 - 66000 £ per year.
Our client is a developer/contractor undertaking residential & mixed use schemes across the country.
They predominantly build houses, and their apartment blocks are usually no more than 3 or 4 stories high (no RC frame).
The need now exists for a Buyer to look after recently awarded new scheme of works. The position will be based out of their offices in Kent and will report into the Commercial Director.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for procuring materials within budgets in time to progress works on site.
- Responsible for producing monthly budgetary control reports on all materials purchased for each site.
- Responsible for procuring and hiring plant required on site including cabins, forklifts, fencing and transport etc.
- Responsible for resolving account queries with suppliers that the accounts department have failed to resolve through normal procedures.
- Responsible for resolving disputes between suppliers and the company.
- Responsible for procuring site staff protective clothing.
- Required to attend and report on procurement at each site monthly progress meeting.
- Required to on occasion take off material quantities from drawings and produce schedules from which to procure.
- Working alongside Materials Scheduler to ensure schedules are correct.
- Required to assist the estimating department with obtaining pretender quotations and resolving material specification issues.
- Being responsible for liaising between site teams and office teams to ensure all technical information has been included to get drawings to Status A approval prior to delivery on site.
In return, our client is offering a basic salary between £50k – £55k with a full package, bonus on top.
