Role Overview
The Senior Estimator will be a key member of the preconstruction team, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates to secure new projects. The role involves managing tender submissions, collaborating closely with project teams, and providing commercial insight to support strategic growth. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the estimating process for multiple high-value projects, producing detailed and accurate cost estimates.
- Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to ensure completeness and compliance.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to gather pricing information and validate assumptions.
- Prepare, submit, and present tender proposals to clients and stakeholders on schedule.
- Analyse project risks, costs, and profitability, providing clear recommendations to senior management.
- Maintain and improve estimating templates, systems, and processes to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide commercial and technical guidance to project teams during preconstruction.
- Mentor and support junior estimating staff as required.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience as a Senior Estimator within construction, ideally across residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
- Proven track record of producing accurate, competitive estimates and managing tender submissions.
- Strong knowledge of construction costs, procurement, and contract types.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and commercial awareness.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
