Hill & Hill Recruitment are working with a well-established roofing contractor who delivers high-quality roofing projects across London and the South East. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, our client is looking to appoint an Estimator to join their commercial team. They specialise in both pitched and flat roofing projects across a diverse range of sectors including residential, commercial, heritage, education and public sector developments.
The Role
- Preparing accurate cost estimates and competitive tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Carrying out take-offs and producing detailed pricing schedules
- Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Identifying value engineering opportunities where appropriate
- Liaising with clients, suppliers and internal teams throughout the tender process
- Supporting project teams during handover following successful tenders
Requirements
- Previous estimating experience within the roofing sector
- Experience in pitched roofing, flat roofing or both
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software
