The predicted salary is between 25000 - 32000 £ per year.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 (37.5 hours per week). Happy to talk flexible working.

Location: Preston / Manchester

Role overview: Our dedicated Healthcare and Public Law Team are now looking to recruit a Paralegal to join our rapidly growing team. The role will involve undertaking a wide range of advisory and mental health work for the NHS. This role will involve a full-time long-term secondment to a clients’ legal team in Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust – Preston. Secondments are requested by clients from time to time as additional support. Training will be given.

Key responsibilities:

  • A long-term secondment to an NHS trust
  • Drafting witness statements
  • Research and drafting advice
  • Organising medical records
  • Preparing chronologies of medical records
  • Preparing bundles of documents for use at Inquests
  • Note taking at Inquests, meetings and conferences
  • Meeting with clinicians and nursing staff ahead of inquests
  • Running a case load of inquests and claims
  • Attending court
  • Answering the telephone and assisting with queries
  • Assisting with administration tasks when required

  • Ability to deliver technically accurate and appropriate advice to clients, colleagues and others
  • Adheres to guidelines and procedures, whilst showing appropriate initiative
  • Demonstrates competence in own area of expertise
  • Demonstrates understanding of client needs/expectations
  • Ability to interact and communicate with client and keep them up-to-date
  • Excellent communication skills

It would be beneficial for you to have some of the following:

  • Regulatory/health law experience
