The predicted salary is between 60000 - 80000 £ per year.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 (35 hours per week). Happy to talk flexible working.

Location: Flexible, but regular attendance at our various offices is required.

Role overview: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our growing Legal Technology and Innovation team to take the lead on various of our innovation and transformation initiatives. The Strategic Engagement Lead will drive the development and delivery of forward-thinking innovation solutions that enhance legal service delivery for both our lawyers and our clients. The role involves collaboration with internal legal and central services teams, as well as third party consultants and suppliers. The role will also involve line management of a growing team of Legal Innovation colleagues.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted innovation partner to legal practice groups, promote legal technology adoption, legal process transformation, knowledge management and data governance.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (including lawyers, IT, PMO and Risk and Compliance), as well as external vendors, to scope and deliver impactful, value-driven initiatives.
  • Support the design and management of a legal innovation roadmap aligned with business and client strategy.
  • As an ambassador of the legal tech and innovation team, champion a culture of continuous improvement and experimentation within legal service delivery.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative legal technology solutions in response to firm and client needs.
  • Implement and facilitate transformation and change management best practice across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies, legal trends, and best practices in legal operations and innovation.
  • Lead, mentor and grow key members of the Legal Innovation team, ensuring effective project delivery and professional development.

  • Proven experience in legal technology, legal process improvement and/or innovation / transformation within professional services.
  • Practical understanding of legal processes, legal service delivery, and client engagement within a law firm context.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience managing / mentoring a high-performing team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Creative, pragmatic, and commercially minded.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • A commitment to high-quality work and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to seek solutions to problems that may arise, as well as the ability to deal with issues independently and effectively.
  • Flexibility in approach and the ability to reprioritise in order to meet expectations.
  • Responsive to changing environments.
  • Competent in assessing risk and implementing solutions.
  • Excellent IT skills, including knowledge and experience of a range of relevant technology tools.
  • Willingness to travel.
