Role overview:
We are seeking a Legal Director (or potentially a Partner) to join our Tier 1 Real Estate Litigation Team in Liverpool to lead on complex tenant and landlord disputes, specifically in the retail sector. The team is led by Kevin Lee, a highly regarded lawyer in Real Estate litigation, recognized in all major legal directories.
Our experienced team operates from offices in Liverpool, London, Manchester, and Leeds, specializing in strategy and negotiation to achieve the best outcomes for clients in disputes, utilizing all forms of dispute resolution and court proceedings. Our areas of expertise include:
- Retail occupier property management
- Real property-related litigation
- Landlord and tenant management and disputes
Key responsibilities:
- Act as the primary contact for clients with senior property teams
- Lead and attend regular update meetings
- Accept instructions from partners across offices and departments, ensuring high-quality work is completed promptly
- Share responsibility for achieving team budgets and gross margins
- Contribute towards team and personal targets, including client fee generation
- Generate repeat work by demonstrating quality and building client relationships
- Collaborate with other teams to promote firm growth
- Mentor junior fee earners and support their career development
What we are looking for:
Essential:
- Proven experience in retail landlord & tenant sector, acting for multi-occupiers
- Experience handling complex property litigation to trial as a supervising partner/director and case handler
- Ability to lead client meetings confidently
- Skill in delegating work to junior fee earners, particularly Act cases
- Strong business development and marketing skills
- A successful track record at a reputable firm with a strong client following and ability to grow it
