Role Overview

Introduction to the role:

We are seeking to recruit a proactive Senior FP&A Analyst to develop our financial modelling capabilities. This role is pivotal in supporting the firm's financial planning, forecasting and operational and strategic decision-making, while helping to identify opportunities to improve profitability and commercial performance. The Senior FP&A Analyst will lead financial modelling and scenario planning and will strengthen the wider finance team’s capacity through regular forecasting, budget setting and project appraisal. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of Excel and will have a proven track record of financial modelling and analysis. This role reports to the Financial Controller and will frequently interact with the Finance Director and Senior Finance Business Partners.

You will work closely with the Financial Controller and will establish strong working relationships with our management accountants and business partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a rolling forecast model at group level. Own the process seeking input from key members of the finance team. Perform scenario and sensitivity analysis on the forecast as directed by the FC and FD.
• Produce analysis on budget output, identifying risk areas and opportunities to improve profit.
• Develop a financial model for long range planning (up to 5 years) incorporating scenario and sensitivity analysis (for all 3 financial statements).
• Develop models to analyse historical cash flow trends and produce reliable cash flow forecasts for each location and the group as a whole.
• Analyse group expenditure in detail, providing insights and recommendations to improve margins and reduce costs.
• Develop and maintain analytical models to identify trends, risks, opportunities and key performance indicators.
• Build and maintain dynamic models to evaluate project performance, capital investments and new business pricing.
• Ensure all financial models are appropriately documented, tested, controlled and maintained in line with best practice.
• Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, automate reporting processes and enhance financial planning tools.

What Are We Looking For

• Full or part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with SQL, ERP systems, or data visualization tools like Power BI
• Demonstrable experience in commercial finance, financial planning, forecasting and financial modelling
• Experience building integrated three-statement financial models
• Ability to translate complex datasets into clear, actionable advice for stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
• Proactive and determined attitude
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to learn to work with new systems
