The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Hours: Part-time or full-time considered, Monday to Friday (16-37.5 hours per week).

Role Overview: An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Director to join our Pensions team in either Leeds or Manchester. The successful candidate will be confident in delivering advice and guidance on a range of pensions matters ensuring an exceptional level of service to clients.

Our specialist Pensions team, led by Barry Gibb, is described as ‘extremely reliable, responsive and pragmatic’ by Legal 500, and is comprised of two further partners, Paula Warnock and Liz Graham, along with one legal director, two associates, one trainee and a legal administration assistant. It is a successful and busy team with a thriving trustee practice along with advising a number of blue‑chip corporate clients on a wide range of pension matters. Regularly working alongside city firms, the team engages in detailed, interesting work and is supported by a full‑service commercial practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clear pensions advice
  • Advising both trustee and corporate clients
  • Benefit change projects and de‑risking exercises
  • Interpreting rules, trustee powers and discretions
  • Scheme funding negotiations and funding solutions
  • Restructuring and winding up
  • Buy‑in and buy‑out projects
  • Supervision and development of junior lawyers

  • Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to prioritise
  • Proficient in use of legal document management systems
  • Flexibility to support client development and attend networking events
