Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 (35 hours per week). Happy to talk flexible working.

Role Overview: The bids team is responsible for securing new business through new and existing client wins. We collaborate with teams across the firm’s three divisions - business services, healthcare, and marine - to produce high-quality responses to opportunities of all sizes. Operating in a fast-paced environment, we work with stakeholders from each of our global offices on a day-to-day basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project managing tenders from initial assessment of the opportunity, including bid/no bid qualification, through to drafting, submission, preparing teams for presentations and post submission feedback and reporting
  • Identifying winning themes that convey an understanding of client requirements and differentiate our offering to those of our competitors
  • Generating written responses and marketing materials that are completed to a high standard and are compelling, clear, and compliant
  • Developing and maintaining a library of precedent text for tenders including capturing all deal/transaction information to be utilised in future bids
  • Managing internal stakeholders throughout the tender process
  • Researching and establishing procurement cycles and engaging with procurement professionals within key target and key client organisations to contribute to the firm’s sales pipeline
  • Providing input to the lessons learnt process from involvement with previous submissions
  • Take responsibility for additional projects, as directed by the Head of Client Development

What Are We Looking For:

Important criteria:

  • Prior experience in a tender management and a bid writing capacity
  • Experience of handling both private and public sector tender opportunities, ideally in the health sector
  • Experience of working in professional services; specifically legal services
  • Proven ability writing concise written bid responses based on highly technical information
  • Demonstrated capability to write winning bid and proposal content
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Excellent and engaging communication skills
  • Advanced IT skills across a broad range of applications including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Ability to deliver under pressure and meet deadlines, working with a proactive approach under own initiative

Desirable:

  • Understanding of layout and graphics and knowledge of InDesign is advantageous
  • APMP (Association for Proposal Management Professional) Foundation Certification or strong understanding of proposal best practice
