Responsibilities
- Providing support to the Head of the team with the co‑ordination of data information for clients
- Preparing case bundles and documenting against agreed protocols
- Assisting the team with legal matters
- Assisting with administration tasks when required
- Preparing cost schedules
- Assessing bills of costs
- Negotiating costs to settlement and assisting with administering procedures using the most effective channels to progress caseloads
- Conducting legal research using selected sources such as legal databases
- Solving legal technical problems within remit and escalating as needed
- Presenting findings from legal research in line with organisational expectations
- Assisting in applying the principles of law to stakeholder cases
- Communicating using plain English to provide clarification and explanation of the legal process and standard legal terms
- Organising and administering workflow such as legal files, case management and accounting systems to progress work within service level expectations
- Carrying out file management activities such as preparing and collating bundles, taking and filing accurate notes, closing and reviewing files, maintaining databases and version control
- Using a range of digital tools and technologies, for example to draft legal documents, conduct legal research, carry out data analysis and collaborate with others
- Applying fraud protection measures and cyber‑security procedures in relation to transactions, keeping up-to-date with approaches
- Undertaking activities to ensure a clear picture of a stakeholder\’s needs and risks throughout legal transactions
- Assessing risks and benefits to the stakeholder of different options and making recommendations to senior team members to ensure that they work in the stakeholders\’ best interests
Training and Development
The apprentice will spend 20% of their working week studying towards the CILEx Paralegal Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice. The course will be delivered via remote learning, which can be completed in the office or at home, in line with our hybrid working policy. Study will take place one day per week, as agreed between the successful candidate and the team. The apprenticeship will develop corporate business skills through formal training and studying towards the qualification. Working Conditions

Compensation
Wage: £23,500 per annum (check current minimum wage rates). The firm understands that incentives go far beyond a good salary, so we have created a comprehensive benefits package tailored around our people.
