Role Overview

As our Learning & Development Specialist you will have a big part to play in ensuring that the impact of L&D at the firm is positive, enabling colleagues to continue to grow and perform. This role will need you to be proactive and commercially responsive. Developing and managing ongoing relationships with the wider HR&D team and colleagues in our business groups is critical to success.

The L&D specialist role will be responsible for working with stakeholders, ensuring that a range of virtual and face‑to‑face workshops are designed and delivered in accordance with identified learning needs. This in turn will ensure that we continue to deliver against our promises and support the wider HR&D and business strategy effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of L&D and our two L&D managers to ensure that in‑person and virtual learning is designed and delivered in line with identified needs, covering the full learning cycle from needs identification, through to design, delivery and evaluation.
  • Serve as a point of contact for L&D queries and a trusted advisor to employees and Partners where appropriate, with responsibility for working closely with one business group.
  • Attend in‑person at Hill Dickinson UK offices to deliver learning events when required.

  • Proven experience of designing and facilitating engaging workshops and learning events, both virtually and face‑to‑face.
  • A demonstrable understanding of adult learning styles and ability to apply theory in practice.
  • Ability to work with blended learning approaches.
  • Ability to follow agreed processes as required.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with a range of stakeholders, including but not limited to training reps and PSLs.
  • Customer‑first focus, with an ability to listen and act commercially in respect of support provided.
  • Ability to work effectively and productively in a hybrid working model and be accountable for outputs.
  • Resilient and tenacious in finding effective and innovative learning solutions that support the sustainable growth of Hill Dickinson.
  • Qualified to Level 3 or above in an L&D/HR discipline.
  • Desire to support the wider HR/firm strategy by working collaboratively across the wider HR&D team.
  • Ability to use data to inform decision making and improve the L&D offer.
  • Willing to travel to UK offices.

It would be beneficial for you to have the following

  • Member of a recognised HR professional body such as the CIPD or Learning and Performance Institute.
  • Previous experience of working in a professional services environment, or with teams that provide professional services.
  • Additional accreditations/qualifications related to L&D e.g., coaching, level A&B, NLP etc.
  • Driving licence.
