Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 (37.5 hours per week)

Role Overview: The role offers the opportunity to work alongside Kerstie Skeaping who has practised employment law for over 20 years and heads up the well-regarded Commercial Employment team nationally.

You will be given plenty of client responsibility and exposure but at the same time be part of a supportive team environment.

The successful candidate will be allocated to a senior member of the team for support and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing legal advice to a broad range of clients, from company owners and managers, HR professionals and in-house lawyers, to public and private sector organisations, as well as senior employees and executives, on a range of employment matters.
  • Managing a good mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
  • Undertake all aspects of employment law including drafting various employment documents, maternity and paternity rights, discrimination, whistleblowing, employee relations issues, disciplinary matters and grievances, mediation, dismissals, redundancy, TUPE and employment tribunal claims.
  • Transactional support
  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Contribute to business development.
  • Supervision of junior members of the team.

What Are We Looking For:

  • Qualified solicitor
  • Demonstrable corporate support experience within an employment commercial team
  • The ability and experience of managing a caseload providing sound commercial advice.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Adheres to guidelines and procedures.
  • An understanding of clients’ needs and expectations.
  • Flexibility in approach and a willingness to work outside normal office hours, if required.
