We are seeking a professional, well-organised and motivated individual to join our Residential Conveyancing Department as a Paralegal. This is an excellent opportunity for a law graduate looking to build a long-term career within a busy legal practice, providing vital support to our Residential Conveyancing team.

The successful candidate will assist with a broad range of residential property matters including sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity and related transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing departmental administrative support
  • Assisting fee earners with residential conveyancing transactions from instruction through to completion
  • Drafting legal documents and correspondence
  • Preparing contract packs and completion documentation
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and solicitors
  • Conducting searches and Land Registry applications
  • Maintaining and updating client files and case management systems
  • Handling client correspondence in a professional and efficient manner
Candidate Requirements
  • Good Client Care. The majority of our work comes from repeat clients or client recommendations and so offering our clients an excellent, personal service is of the utmost importance.
  • A law degree (LLB or equivalent) is essential
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational skills (including filing, time recording, and diary management, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy workload
  • The ability to communicate professionally and confidently with clients and third parties
  • The ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team
  • Competence with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel
  • Previous conveyancing experience is desirable but not essential
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Good interpersonal skills. We have a very happy team here and do not wish to see that upset.
  • Flexibility and an excellent work ethic. We are a traditional, independent firm so the successful candidate must show a willingness to do what is required for the good of the practice.
Career Progression

We are committed to supporting long-term career development. For the right candidate, almost all of our current solicitors were once trainees at our firm. For the successful candidate who demonstrates competence, hard work, and commitment to the firm, there will be the opportunity to be considered for a Training Contract after two years with the firm, subject to performance and business needs.

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. We close the office for Christmas and so staff must save 3.5 days to cover the period from midday on 24th December until the first working day in January
