Experienced solicitor sought to join the residential conveyancing department of a small, independent, traditional, high street solicitors practice in Altrincham (WA14 1QD). We conduct all types of residential conveyancing. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct matters from instruction to registration. An administrative assistant will assist with administrative aspects of transactions, including opening files, CCL, preparation of contact packs, ordering searches, etc.

We have a reputation for providing our clients with an outstanding personal service and so the successful candidate will be expected to maintain good contact with clients. We are seeking a solicitor with a high degree of technical and theoretical expertise who can work without needing close supervision and who can assist the more junior members of the department. The job comes with excellent prospects of promotion. It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be considered for the position of head of department in two years’ time.

The position is wholly office based. We have an open-door policy and work collaboratively to ensure that our standards of service are maintained and our colleagues are happy and supported. We operate on a quality rather than quantity basis and so caseload is expected to be between 40 and 50 cases at any one time. We use Proclaim as our case management system.

25 days annual leave per year plus bank holidays. We close the office for the Christmas period. Car parking in the car park opposite the office. Bonuses of 10% of the value billed in excess of target (3x salary). Christmas and loyalty/diligence bonus usual but at the discretion of the Managing Partner. We are a very happy office and so the successful candidate will need to be personable and generally get along well with people.
