Can you join us for 6 hours on a Monday and 6 hours on a Thursday? Join our patient-facing dispensing team to support dispensing services to patients in Fairford, in collaboration with the Dispensing team and dispensary manager. You will need to be well-organised, motivated, and prepared to continually develop your dispensing skills to support the Dispensary Manager and Practice Manager and our hard-working dispensing team.

Main duties of the job

  • Support the Dispensary manager and the Dispensing team in all aspects of dispensing at Hilary Cottage Surgery.
  • Manage orders and deliveries, drug audits and drug disposals, patient correspondence and other patient interactions.
  • Support the dispensing team and its operations on a day-to-day basis.
  • Help ensure dispensing practices are continually monitored, developed and managed to a high standard.

Job responsibilities

  • This job is for 2x6 hour days, Monday and Thursday. Start time subject to discussion.
  • Requires occasional 'late' working to 6:30pm to cover holiday and sickness.
  • Work with DSQS and ensure all dispensing practices are compliant with DSQS requirements, and support DSQS audits.
  • Support the team with stock control processes and ordering.
  • Monitor and manage expenditure.
  • Support the management of repeat prescription processes.
  • Manage and record dispensing errors.
  • Support patients with questions and offer appropriate advice to patients.
  • Manage ongoing development of dispensary policies.
  • Advise the Practice Manager and Dispensary Manager of potential for improvement in practices and profitability.

Experience

  • Experience working in a pharmacy or dispensing practice, or equivalent.
  • Team leader/management experience.

Qualifications

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
  • NVQ 2 in relevant pharmacy or dispensing related subjects.
  • NVQ 3 in relevant pharmacy or dispensing related subjects.
  • Team Leader or team management experience.
  • Knowledge of TPP SystmOne.
  • Customer/patient facing experience.
  • Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Primary Care dispensing experience.
