Mowi Scotland operates a Quality Management System to support the achievement of our Mission: lead the Blue Revolution to provide healthy, tasty and sustainable food from the sea to a growing world population. We are now looking to recruit a highly motivated Junior Quality Systems Officer for our Technical department.
Working to support the Quality Management System, the incumbent will assist in the maintenance of our certification portfolio through auditing and data submissions, aid in the collation, submission and distribution of operational quality metrics both internally and externally, and support the operational requirements of the Quality Management System. The role will include working in close cooperation with all relevant parts of the business. As part of the role, the successful candidate will be expected to provide audit support to key operational departments and will travel to our sites across Scotland. The role is based in Fort William and involves working closely with the technical team.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively to a high verbal and written standard to a diverse range of people. You will be able to plan, project manage effectively, focus on details, be methodical, and work to a tight schedule while producing and maintaining a high standard of work. In addition to being an effective team player, you will be able to work individually, using your own initiative to get the job done.
About the role
This role is a crucial part of our operations and you will work with various departments across the business. The job includes, but is not limited to:
- Internal auditing for all sites, freshwater through to seawater, as part of a wider team
- Audit support for external certification portfolio and customer specifications to key business operational departments
- Support handling of corrective action requests raised at audits to ensure they are closed out in a timely manner and assist in analysis of results
- Ensuring close cooperation and communication with all relevant parts of the business
- Internal and external data collation, dissemination and submission as required
- Support in documentation requirements of Quality Management System
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Qualification in an Aquaculture or other relevant subject or experience within Aquaculture is preferable but not essential
- Previous experience of Quality Systems is advantageous but not essential
- Previous experience of auditing is advantageous but not essential
- Strong communication skills and computer literacy
- Attention to detail
- A methodical and innovative approach to work
