Business Manager in Fort William

Fort William Full-Time On-site
H

An unusual opportunity for an exceptionally capable and well-organised person living in or around Lochaber to help manage and develop a varied property business and associated activities.Applications are invited from both experienced managers and younger candidates with talent and aptitude keen to undertake the necessary training.

This is

not a routine administrative position. The successful applicant will work closely with the owners, initially assisting with the day-to-day running of the businesses while learning how they operate. For the right person, the intention is that the role will develop progressively into one carrying considerable responsibility and independence.

The opportunity

Our activities principally involve a substantial and varied portfolio of residential property, together with property development, investment and associated business interests.

The work is consequently extremely varied and may include:

  • property and tenancy administration;
  • dealing with tenants, contractors, professional advisers and public bodies;
  • assisting with property purchases, sales and development projects;
  • bookkeeping, accounts and financial administration;
  • preparing and maintaining spreadsheets, records and management information;
  • researching property, business and investment matters;
  • drafting correspondence and dealing with emails;
  • helping to organise projects and ensure that matters are followed through to completion;
  • making increasing use of modern technology and AI to improve the efficiency of the businesses.

We are particularly interested in finding someone who wants

more than simply a job and who would enjoy gradually taking responsibility for substantial areas of the businesses.
