Job Summary:
AUREOS INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES LIMITED is seeking a Highways Site Engineer to oversee and manage highway improvement projects in the Liverpool area, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise all on-site construction activities related to highway projects, including earthworks, drainage, pavement construction, and associated civil engineering works.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and identify potential issues or deviations.
- Liaise effectively with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare and maintain accurate site records, including diaries, progress reports, quality control documentation, and safety records.
- Assist in the preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and work permits.
- Set out and survey works, ensuring accurate alignment and levels are maintained throughout the project.
- Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures on site.
- Identify and resolve technical problems and site-related issues efficiently.
- Monitor project costs and assist with budget control.
Job Qualifications:
- HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3yrs+ proven experience as a Site Engineer, specifically with highways and road construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction standards, regulations, and health and safety legislation.
- Proficiency in setting out techniques and the use of surveying equipment (total stations, GPS).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant engineering software.
- Valid UK driving license.
- CSCS card (or equivalent) is required.
- SMSTS or SSSTS qualification is highly desirable.
