National Highways is seeking a Technical Support Analyst (Tier 1) to join our Digital Services team. The Technical Support Analyst will provide daily onsite IT support to NH office locations, including assistance with printers, computers, peripherals, and telephone equipment. The role also involves managing application, system, and network issues to resolution and supporting new installations, migrations, and office moves. This is a full-time, office-based role requiring candidates to work on-site at our Guildford office five days per week.
The position primarily involves providing IT support via the on-site tech bar, with additional responsibility for visiting outstations, depots, RCC, and other regional locations. Responsibilities include:
- Performing routine maintenance on computers, monitors, peripherals and digital/IP telephone systems.
- Setting up new equipment and installing operating system and application software.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of support work performed via the helpdesk ticketing system.
- Maintaining updated knowledge of software/hardware to assure the proper implementation and service of client workstations.
- Maintaining communications with the client/end user base, external and internal suppliers, throughout scheduled and daily support work activities.
About you:
- MCP qualification or relevant experience.
- Good working knowledge of networking, protocols, structured cabling and associated terminology.
- Related experience in a similar technical support/customer facing role within a corporate/professional environment.
- Experience of implementing and supporting desktop encryption and end point security such as BitLocker.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and able to demonstrate excellent knowledge of Desktop Operating Systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
