We are seeking an experienced NEC Project Manager to deliver the Hunterston Plant under the NEC suite of contracts. You will play a key role in ensuring successful project outcomes through strong contract administration, proactive risk management and change control, with involvement in developing the strategy for the overall programme of projects to follow. The NEC Project Manager will report to the Project Director – Hunterston and work closely with contractors to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget and in line with NEC principles of collaboration and transparency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Project Manager under NEC3/NEC4 contracts
  • Manage Early Warnings, chair risk reduction meetings and drive proactive risk management
  • Assess and manage Compensation Events, including time and cost impacts
  • Review and accept programmes and monitor progress against key milestones
  • Oversee cost control, forecasting and payment assessments
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and governance requirements
  • Contract administration, assessments, reviews and the development of ‘lessons learnt' reports
  • Co‑ordinate contract administration to ensure efficient risk management and successful project delivery
Essential Qualifications
  • Proven experience managing projects under NEC contracts
  • 5+ years' experience on NEC projects
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of NEC contract mechanisms and change control
  • Commercially aware with strong problem‑solving ability
  • Able to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced project environment
Desirable Qualifications
  • LLM/ NEC Project Manager/ SMSTS qualification
  • Recognised qualification in an engineering discipline
  • Experience working on projects relating to the energy or energy storage industry an advantage
  • Background in infrastructure, construction or utilities
  • Professional membership (APMP or similar)
