Job Purpose: The Project Engineer will support the Electrical Project team by working closely with internal and external stakeholders to progress ongoing package delivery as well as taking ownership of new small packages of work from design through to delivery. Co-ordination of design and delivery schedules. Liaising with manufacturers to progress detailed design and equipment delivery. Liaising with subcontractors in order to understand challenges and prepare for equipment delivery and installation. Producing project documentation such as BOQ, Schedule of Activities, RFQ document preparation and design packs. Working with construction team to co-ordinate delivery works. The Electrical Project Engineer will report to the Electrical Package Lead and be based in the Glasgow office.

Requirements: The responsibilities of the role will include, but not limited to:

  • Liaise with Design Engineering technical team
  • Undertake Technical Evaluation
  • Ensure correct specifications quantities and materials
  • Manage TQs
  • Instruct on any change requests
  • Document review & approval
  • Liaise with Vendors to ensure information transfer is according to schedule
  • Undertake Weekly/Monthly reviews of Vendors Scope
  • Manage TQs, clarifications, Change requests
  • Undertake QAQC Reviews
  • Liaise with Construction Project Team
  • Work closely with clients' contractors to ensure project specifications are met and maintain effective communication throughout the project
  • Ensure Vendor information is available
  • Provide review of TQ's
  • Provide regular reporting on package progress
  • Raise risks etc. for action where necessary
  • Manage delivery per Project requirements

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering work packages within a project‑driven environment
  • Background in industrial electrical design, construction, and commissioning activities
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical documentation, including schematics, SLDs, and load schedules
  • Strong understanding of standard electrical infrastructure and associated systems
  • Solid working knowledge of UK electrical standards, legislation, and industry regulations
  • Degree‑level qualification or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety best practice across all project stages
  • Hands‑on experience implementing CDM regulations
  • Familiarity with DCS systems and their application in industrial settings
  • Proficient in using modern engineering and project delivery software tools

Desirable:

  • Experience working in dispersed international teams
  • UK site construction experience
  • UK Drivers License
