We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer to be an integral part of the Projects Team. This role will support the Project Director and project team in general project management activities, interface and risk management, and deliver a specific area of the project (to be determined based on experience). The role will also interact with multiple contractors, requiring a great degree of self‑management and time management, and will interface with appropriate personnel on the project team.
You will be a key member of the project team, responsible for driving the project forward successfully by managing the performance of vendors and other third‑party contractors, coordinating between the various internal disciplines, and reporting back to the Project Director. Exceptional planning, organisation and communication skills, and the ability to develop relationships and influence at all levels are key to this role.
The successful candidate will have a background working within a project delivery environment, preferably within energy storage, process, or electrical power fields, and will have hands‑on experience of the entire project life cycle from FEED, project planning, cost estimating, detailed design, risk and change management, delivery and commissioning to close out and handover.
The role will be predominantly based in our central Glasgow office, but visits to the Hunterston site will be expected when the needs of the project require it. The position will develop as the company grows and the Projects department expands, making it suitable for an ambitious person looking to progress their own career.
