The Employee Relations Advisor role provides expert, proactive support to managers across the organisation on a wide range of employee relations matters. You will coach and guide managers to confidently handle people issues, ensure cases are managed consistently and fairly, and contribute to the development of HR policies and best-practice approaches. The role offers variety, flexibility, and the opportunity to play a key role in shaping how effective people management is delivered across Hightown.
As our Employee Relations Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused ER service across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Provide clear, practical advice to managers on a wide range of ER issues including sickness absence, performance, probation, flexible working, and casework.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with managers by coaching, guiding and developing their confidence in people management.
- Support the organisation through formal and informal ER processes, including drafting documentation, reviewing reports, and advising on best practice.
- Assist with policy development and updates, ensuring our HR documents remain legally compliant and aligned with best practice.
- Lead or support HR project workstreams and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage accurate case records and ER workflows in our HR system.
- Advise on OH referrals, reasonable adjustments and well-being support to ensure colleagues are appropriately supported at work.
About You
- Experienced in providing HR advice, ideally with a focus on employee relations.
- Able to confidently coach and influence managers at all levels.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities.
- Strong collaboration skills - clear, compassionate and professional.
- Detail-focused, ensuring accurate documentation and high-quality work.
- Positive, proactive and solution-focused.
