Love spreadsheets, but also love talking to people? We are looking for a talented Management Accountant for a 6-month fixed term contract who can do more than crunch numbers. You will be someone who enjoys turning complex financial information into clear, practical insights that help colleagues make great decisions.

At Hightown Housing Association, you will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, service charge accounting and financial analysis, helping us deliver homes and support services that make a real difference to people's lives.

What you will be doing:

  • Producing monthly management accounts and meaningful financial analysis
  • Supporting budgets, forecasts and business planning
  • Working closely with budget holders and managers across the organisation
  • Explaining financial information in a way that non-finance colleagues actually understand
  • Using your Excel expertise to analyse data, spot trends and support decision making
  • Supporting year-end processes, audits and service charge accounts

What we are looking for:

  • AAT qualified or equivalent accounting qualification
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate finance speak into plain English for managers and colleagues from non-financial backgrounds
  • Experience producing management accounts, budgets and forecasts
  • Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to see the bigger picture
  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to challenge constructively when needed

Why join Hightown?

You will be joining an organisation that manages over 9,000 homes and supports communities across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire. We are committed to investing in our people and creating a culture where colleagues can thrive while making a genuine difference to people's lives.

What we offer:

  • Professional development and sector-relevant training opportunities
  • 33 days’ annual leave including Bank Holidays (pro-rata)
  • Competitive salary of £49,959 for a 35-hour week
  • Monthly attendance bonus
  • Hybrid working (minimum 2 days in the office)
  • Workplace pension & life assurance (3× salary)
