An established and highly respected main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering landmark commercial, residential and mixed-use developments is seeking an experienced

Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its London-based team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile, multi-million-pound construction projects while becoming part of a business known for quality delivery, long-term project pipelines and investment in its people.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will take full commercial responsibility for major projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring strong financial performance while maintaining excellent client and subcontractor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial management of large-scale construction projects.
  • Prepare, manage and negotiate subcontract packages.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts and cash flow.
  • Prepare and submit valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Work closely with site and project management teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and accurate commercial reporting.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience working with a main contractor on large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract, including JCT and NEC.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects independently and deliver strong financial outcomes.
  • Full right to work in the UK or eligibility to obtain the necessary permissions.
