Are you ready for your next big career challenge? If so, then we have an amazing opportunity for you. This is a challenging role, so we are looking for an individual who has strong people management skills along with an excellent understanding of ATC technical and regulatory requirements.
You will be required to demonstrate that you have excellent leadership potential, strong interpersonal skills and that you possess superior communications skills. You should be a strong team player and people manager and be able to make sound decisions under pressure and contribute towards an effective interdepartmental team working within the airport.
The successful candidate is required to hold an Air Traffic Controller’s licence issued in accordance with UK Regulation (EU) 2015/340 containing an Aerodrome Control Instrument (ADI) rating and an Approach Control Procedural (APP) rating. Applicants with an ADI rating only may be considered, but if not already held you will be required to obtain an APP rating. The operational position is combined ADI/APP, you will be required to obtain and maintain valid unit endorsements, maintain operational currency and fill gaps on the roster when required.
The current airport hours do not require shift working, but some weekend working will be necessary. Ideally you should also hold an OJTI licence endorsement. Previous experience of unit management and project management will be a distinct advantage.
In addition, you should be able to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of all relevant ICAO and UK regulatory requirements including Safety Management Systems (SMS) and associated procedures. In this operational role you will work closely with the Air Traffic Services Manager (ATSM) to assure the provision of ATS.
You will be expected to contribute to the Airport Team supporting the overall strategic development plan and specific projects. In addition you will liaise closely with Head Office Corporate functions to provide information in support of wider strategic priorities to ensure that the SMT and Board are fully appraised on all Air Traffic projects and activities at the airport.
