Highlander International Recycling Ltd., Scotland's Largest independent paper recycling company, is looking to recruit a full-time HGV driver to add to our transport team, with either Class 2 or Class 1 abilities. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing industry, and we offer a day shift Monday - Friday with overtime as and when required, with accommodating hours to allow for a great work life balance. Our operating hours are generally between 5am - 4pm with a 9 hour shift allocated within those times, although we can be flexible.
Your primary responsibility will be to collect a range of waste paper grades from customer sites and transport these back to the Highlander warehouse for unloading and processing. Our fleet includes curtain sided vehicles, hook-lift roll on roll off skip trucks, articulated vehicles and wag & drag.
Training will be provided to ensure you have a basic understanding of the business, the fleet, customer requirements and what is expected of you, and this advert is open to both experienced drivers, as well as to newly qualified drivers who are looking to begin a career in professional HGV driving.
Qualifications/Essential Skills:
- Class 2/C HGV licence
- CPC and Digi-card
- Forklift experience and/or Moffett Mounty license would be desirable but is not essential
- Experience of roll on/off and compactor skips is desirable but not essential
- Excellent geographical knowledge of central Scotland
- Excellent customer service skills
Alongside the above points you should be physically fit, proactive, trustworthy, motivated, and able to work with your own initiative. You should also be confident, presentable, reliable, and hard-working with an excellent work ethic, and able to work as part of a team, as well as on your own.
Please also note we background screen all staff to BS7858 standards including a Disclosure Scotland.
