At Highland Spring Group, every drop of our natural-source water begins in the Ochil Hills. We are proud guardians of 2,500 acres of protected organic land, and we care deeply about our people, our product, our customers and the environment we are trusted to protect.

We are looking for a Process Support Engineer to join our Operations team at our Ochils site. This is a hands-on, shop-floor focused role where you will help our bottling operations run safely, efficiently and sustainably. You will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance teams to improve line performance, solve problems and support continuous improvement. Just as importantly, you will bring people with you — listening to operators, building trust, and embedding improvements through teamwork.

What you’ll be doing

As Process Support Engineer, you will play a key role in improving how our high-speed bottling and packaging lines perform. You will use data, practical engineering knowledge and strong relationships to identify opportunities, reduce losses and support lasting change. You will:

  • Support safe, efficient and high-quality bottling operations across our production lines
  • Analyse line performance, including OEE, downtime, waste, changeovers and process variability
  • Identify and deliver practical improvement opportunities that improve safety, quality, output and efficiency
  • Lead and support structured problem-solving using Lean and Six Sigma tools
  • Work with operators and team leaders to embed best-practice line running and asset care standards
  • Support trials, process changes and standard-setting to help stabilise and sustain improvements
  • Help simplify and improve SOPs, standards and ways of working
  • Reduce waste across time, materials, energy and water, supporting our sustainability commitments
  • Use data to guide decisions, reporting and visual management
  • Make sure improvements are documented, standardised and sustained

About you

You are a practical, people-centred engineer who enjoys being close to the process and seeing improvements come to life on the shop floor. You understand that operators are experts in their own processes, and you know how to listen, challenge respectfully and influence change without direct authority. You are comfortable working in a fast-moving manufacturing environment and enjoy solving problems that make a real difference.

You will bring:

  • A degree or HND in Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in FMCG manufacturing, ideally within bottling, packaging or another high-speed production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process improvement and line optimisation.
  • Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
  • The ability to engage, coach and influence people at all levels.
  • A clear, confident and pragmatic communication style.
  • A commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement and sustainable performance.

It would be helpful, but not essential, if you also have:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt accreditation
  • Experience with OEE improvement and loss analysis
  • Knowledge of food safety standards such as BRCGS
  • Experience supporting change management in manufacturing environments
